How we handle cancellations
A private charter reserves a captain, crew, marina slot and tailored route weeks in advance. The terms below balance that commitment with reasonable flexibility for the guest.
Where possible, our preference is always to postpone rather than cancel. Speak to us early and we will look for the best outcome together.
If the guest cancels
The schedule below applies once a booking has been confirmed by deposit:
- More than sixty days before the charter, the deposit is fully refundable, less any payment processing fees
- Between thirty and sixty days, fifty percent of the charter fee is retained
- Less than thirty days, the full charter fee is retained
We always try to resell short notice cancellations. If we secure a replacement booking for your dates, the equivalent value is refunded to you.
Postponement
With at least fourteen days notice, you may move the charter to another date during the same season at no charge, subject to availability and any difference in seasonal pricing.
Postponements requested closer to the charter are reviewed case by case and subject to the captain's schedule.
If we cancel
In the rare event that Elite Rentals Ibiza or the yacht owner needs to cancel a confirmed booking, we will offer either an equivalent yacht for the same dates, an alternative set of dates of equal value, or a full refund of every euro paid.
Weather and safety
The captain has full authority over whether it is safe to leave port. If the charter cannot start due to weather or sea conditions, we will offer the closest alternative date or a refund of the unused portion of the day.
A charter that begins and is then cut short by weather counts as completed for the time at sea, with the unused hours treated as a credit toward a future booking where possible.
Force majeure
Where a booking is prevented by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including port closures, strikes, public events or government restrictions, we will move the charter to alternative dates or refund the unused portion. Elite Rentals Ibiza is not liable for connected costs such as flights, hotels or transfers.
How refunds are paid
Refunds are processed within ten working days of the cancellation being confirmed, to the original payment method where possible.
